I. Registry of Deeds Clerk

Androscoggin County is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Deeds Clerk. The Clerk will be responsible for day-to-day operations and assures that all records regarding property are recorded accurately and in a manner that will provide accessibility to the public. The salary range for this position is $18.41- $23.32.

 

Responsibilities:
- Preform day-to-day operations such as photocopying, faxing, and filing.
-Accepts documents for recording, by mail, e-file or hand delivered, responsible for collecting recording fees and transfer tax if required at the time of recording. Assigns books and pages to all documents. readies documents for scanning by checking for correct book and page order, end stamps and seals.
- Indexes daily documents into the computer.
- Scans daily documents.
- Proofs daily entries for accuracy.
- Returns daily recorded document to the appropriate recipients.
- Responsible for preparing certified copies.
- Runs monthly bills and copy reports for Tax Assessors' of each city and town in Androscoggin County for property tax purposes.
- Posting daily payment and changes.
- Assists general public in finding information from records either by correspondence, telephone or in person.

II. (EMA) Emergency Management Agency Director

Androscoggin County is hiring for a Emergency Management Agency Director.  This position’s purpose is to develop and maintain a comprehensive emergency management program that seeks to lessen the effects of emergencies/disasters on the lives and property of the citizens of Androscoggin County through leadership, coordination, and support in the four phases of emergency management. These phases encompass mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. Salary: $59,000.00 - $69,000.00 per year.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Governmental Affairs and/or Professional Certification in the field of Emergency Management. Minimum of Eight Years experience in some facet of emergency management service application in public sector, private sector, or military organizations. Computer experience with Windows environment and Microsoft Office applications. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the County Administrator and/or County Commissioners may find appropriate and acceptable. III. EMA Administrative Assistant

Androscoggin County is seeking a full time Administrative Assistant for the Emergency Management Agency. As a member of a face-paced team- oriented environment this qualified candidate will assist by providing administrative support to the Director and Agency Staff. A High School Graduate with two years of previous experience is preferred. Must have a valid State of Maine class C driver’s license and a clear driving record. The pay range is $19.15-$19.72.

IV. Correction Officers

The Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office is currently hiring for full-time Correction Officers. The January 1, 2024 starting wages are $22.07 to $29.30 per hour, depending on experience, with credit of up to 15 years’ experience in the field plus stipends for education and night shift differential. We offer a 12-hour fixed shifts (nights or days) in a fifteen-day work rotation where you will have every other weekend off and be compensated for a 42 hour work week, plus overtime opportunities. Androscoggin County offers medical and dental insurance, 20 year Maine State Retirement Plan 50% no age, 457b plan, 13 paid holidays, Paid Uniform Allowance and a great team working environment.Applicants must be 18 years of age, have taken the Maine Criminal Justice Academy ALERT Test, have a high school diploma or GED, and possess a Maine driver’s license with no major convictions. Applicants will also need to successfully pass a background investigation to include:  
*No convictions or conduct for Murder, Class A, Class B, Class C, or Class D crime; or convictions for any violation of the Maine Criminal Code, chapters 15 (theft), 19 (falsification in official matters), 25 (bribery or corrupt matters) or 45 (drugs), or a conviction for any equivalent crime in another jurisdiction outside the State of Maine.
*Shall be of good moral character, as determined by a thorough background investigation;
Shall complete a state and federal criminal records check through the submission of fingerprints to the State Bureau of Identification and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
*Where a greater portion of the new curriculum is now "hands-on" the candidate must be deemed medically suitable to participate in the corrections training program by having medical personnel sign the MCJA Medical Form.

V. County Administrator

Androscoggin County is seeking an energetic, customer-focused, and solution-oriented individual to serve as County Administrator.The County Administrator serves as the chief administrative official of the County and is responsible for the effective operation of all administrative functions of Androscoggin County Government, under the direction of the Board of County Commissioners. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable of the principles and practices of public administration in the areas of budgeting, finance, investments, personnel, procurement, contracting, policy development, and intergovernmental relations. Essential requirements include at least 5-7 years of experience in governmental management; four-year college degree in public administration, business, or a related field. An MPA or MBA degree is highly desirable. The Board of Commissioners may accept comparable experience and waive requirements at their discretion.
